Tan Ming Hui

A dance chameleon.
Ming Hui started her dance journey at the age of 3, where has received comprehensive training in CSTD Ballet, Jazz and Tap Syllabus, honing her skill in each discipline. Since 2005, she has been actively involved in competitions, which she competed in Solo, Duo, Trio and Group items, achieving favourable results. In 2012 as a student, she has received a Betty Tilley Scholarship by The Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing (CSTD) for achieving consistent Honours Plus results in all the examinations throughout the years (Ballet, Jazz & Tap).

Having graduated from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) Diploma in Dance in 2021, she has actively participated with various choreographers, showcasing her talents and dedication in the field of dance. Some of her performances such as in Third Space 2020, a piece entitled “The Spinning House and the Other Stories” choreographed by Christina Chan, featured as a soloist in a section entitled "Mice On The Moon" ; Crossings 2019 working with Christina Chan in a piece entitled “Loom” ; Crossings 2020 in piece entitled “Primal Soul” choreographed by Lionel Araya. While studying, Ming Hui has also started her teaching career in 2018, where she dedicated her free time to teach as a part time teacher and choreographer to enhance her skills.
After graduating from diploma, Ming Hui continued her studies, and has graduated in BA (HONS) Performance Making from NAFA and University of London (UAL), with Upper Second Class Honours in 2023. She was involved in the prestigious M1 Singapore Festival 2022 and successfully produced two shows as part of her graduating modules.
Ming Hui has also actively participated as a freelance artist under Music & Drama Company (MDC) in Singapore National Day Parade 2022 and 2023 which was shown on National TV. This allows her to experience the long rehearsal hours and also learnt how a major production event runs while performing.
With a profound passion for dance, teaching and choreographing, Ming Hui is committed to bringing out the very best in every student she mentors. She believes in nurturing dancers not only into skilled performers but also into confident, expressive individuals. Always guided by the best interests of her students, she cultivates an inspiring and supportive environment where they can refine their craft, pursue their passion, and reach their fullest potential. Drawing on her extensive choreography experience, Ming Hui empowers her students to deliver captivating performances that highlight their artistry, technical precision, and unique strengths, paving the way for success on stage and beyond.
