A life of dance

Melody started Classical Ballet at the age of 5 and was trained under Ms Tan Eng-Ai until her teenage years when she had to put her dance dreams on hold due to studies. With her deep passion for ballet, Melody rekindled her love for ballet after a hiatus of more than 15 years and has trained vocationally under Ms Jovita Bautista and Ms Edna Teo.

Being a strong advocate of lifelong learning, she believes that anyone, regardless of age, can take up ballet as long as one has the passion within to dance. With the desire to share the love of ballet to many more people, she gave up her senior management position in one of the Big 4 accounting firms  to pursue her ballet training in RAD Advanced levels and Discovery Repertoires, as well as completing the Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies. Currently, she is a Registered Teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance as well as a PBT (Progressing Ballet Technique) certified teacher. She constantly challenges herself to strive for the best and believes in working hard to achieve her goals.

As a mother of 2 girls herself, she is patient and experienced in dealing with young children and teenagers. Melody hopes to be a role model to the younger generation and aims to inspire her students and help them discover the joy of ballet because ballet is more than just steps, it teaches us the aspects of life.
